The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the alleged theft of donations at the Ram Temple has revealed significant findings in its preliminary report. According to the report, around 70 suspicious incidents were captured on CCTV cameras between April 27 and June 5.
The footage allegedly shows eight accused, who are currently in police custody, hiding bundles of currency notes in their pockets and shoes during the donation counting process. The revelations have raised fresh concerns over the security and management of temple donations.

The SIT report states that the CCTV recordings provide crucial evidence regarding the alleged misappropriation of cash. Investigators claim the footage shows the accused concealing currency bundles while handling the offerings. Questions raised over administrative oversight
The preliminary findings also contain serious allegations against Dr. Anil Mishra. Additionally, the report claims that Tinnu, the driver of Champat Rai, was in possession of the key to the donation counting room without any formal authorization. Investigators have further alleged that Tinnu recommended his nephew, Manish Yadav, for deployment in the donation counting process.
These findings have prompted questions about the internal administrative procedures and oversight mechanisms governing the handling of temple donations.
Trust issues clarification after meeting
Following a meeting of the temple trust, a video was released showing the donated valuables that had reportedly been alleged as stolen. The trust maintained that all donated items remain safe and secure, asserting that there had been no loss of valuables. The video was presented as an effort to reassure devotees and address concerns regarding the safety of donations.
The SIT investigation is still underway, and officials have stated that all available evidence is being thoroughly examined. The final report is expected to determine whether additional legal action or administrative measures will be taken based on the investigation's findings.
