An elderly couple in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, has approached the Superintendent of Police (SP) office, alleging harassment and physical assault by their son and daughter-in-law over a family property dispute. The couple has sought police intervention, claiming that tensions at home have made their lives increasingly difficult.
The complainants, identified as 64-year-old Naresh Sharma and his wife, residents of Shatabdipuram in Gwalior, visited the SP office to seek assistance and demand action against their family members.
Property Dispute Turns Into Serious Allegations
According to the complaint, the elderly man and his wife accused their younger son, Manudatt Sharma, and daughter-in-law, Divya, also known as Chunmun, of allegedly harassing them over property-related issues.
The couple reportedly alleged that they had faced mistreatment and physical assault during disputes within the family. They also claimed that their son had damaged CCTV cameras installed outside their house. The allegations have raised concerns about the treatment of elderly parents amid domestic property disputes.
Couple Seeks Police Protection and Action
The elderly couple approached the police after allegedly facing repeated difficulties at home. They requested authorities to intervene in the matter, investigate their allegations and take appropriate action against those responsible.
Their complaint highlights the challenges some senior citizens face when disputes over property escalate within families. Such cases can leave elderly parents vulnerable, particularly when disagreements involve their own children and relatives.
Police Asked to Examine the Complaint
Following the couple’s visit, police authorities reportedly directed the concerned officials to look into the complaint and take appropriate action as per the law.
The allegations against the son and daughter-in-law have not been independently established, and further details regarding the investigation remain awaited.
The case has once again drawn attention to the importance of protecting senior citizens and ensuring that family disputes are addressed through lawful channels. Further developments will depend on the police investigation and the findings established during the inquiry.
