A 30-year-old man died after jumping into a well near Pushp Colony on Dhar Road in Manawar, Dhar district, Madhya Pradesh. His body was recovered after nearly 14 hours of rescue efforts, with a Poclain machine equipped with a 60-foot arm brought in to overcome the challenging conditions inside the well. CCTV footage of the incident has also emerged.

Man Jumps Into Well Near Pushp Colony
The deceased, identified as Pintu, jumped into the well on Tuesday night. The well is approximately 20 feet deep and contained heavy sludge and garbage, making the rescue operation particularly difficult.
An elderly man named Laxman, who was nearby preparing to sleep, witnessed the incident. Pintu reportedly called out for help after entering the water. Laxman attempted to save him by throwing a piece of cloth into the well, but the attempt failed to bring him to safety.

NDRF Team Faces Difficult Rescue Conditions
A National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) team launched a search operation and continued its efforts until around 1 am. However, the rescuers could not locate and retrieve the body during the initial search.
The operation resumed on Wednesday. Due to the sludge and accumulated waste inside the well, rescuers eventually brought in a Poclain machine with a 60-foot arm to assist in recovering the body.
The machine’s arrival was delayed because of low-hanging electricity cables along the route. Despite these obstacles, the rescue team continued its efforts until the body was recovered.
Rescue team member Lalit Solanki described the conditions as exceptionally challenging.

Family Raises Concerns After Incident
Pintu had visited his sister’s house in Balipur village on Tuesday night and left carrying a sickle. His sister subsequently informed their younger brother, Sunil, who travelled to Manawar to search for him.
Pintu ran away when Sunil approached him. The family said he had been experiencing mental health difficulties for approximately a year.
The incident has raised concerns about the circumstances leading to Pintu’s death. Further details about the police investigation and any official findings remain unconfirmed.
