The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) on Thursday announced it shall hold a nationwide protest on Friday (July 24, 2026), and has called upon supporters, student organisations and civil society groups to stage peaceful demonstrations across districts in solidarity with students who, as alleged by it, faced police brutality during its ‘Sansad Chalo’ campaign on July 20, 2026.
The party released a social media poster to make the announcement, which carried the slogan ,”Every District. One Day. One Demand.” The outfit has appealed to people across the country to participate in the demonstrations and raise their voices in support of the ones who were allegedly subjected to lathi charge by police during the protests held earlier.
As per the guidelines issued by the party, demonstrations will be organised at the district level, and participants have been asked to gather at designated locations and publicly read out the students’ demands before the assembled gathering.
CJP issues SOP, asks organisers to ensure peaceful protests
The party has issued a standard operating procedure (SOP), campaign material and a memorandum template for local organisers to facilitate the protests. It has directed the organisers to coordinate with student unions and other civil society groups, secure necessary permissions from local authorities and ensure that all sit-ins remain peaceful.

The CJP has also asked protest organisers to stand in solidarity with students who were allegedly affected by police action and to submit a memorandum to the respective district authorities after the sit-ins end.
Union Govt renews dialogue offer amid continuing protests
The CJP’s announcement comes a day after the Union Government expressed its willingness to engage in talks with them amid the escalating student protests in the national capital.
Sources said the Centre is likely to convene a meeting of floor leaders to discuss the NEET UG 2026 paper leak issue and address concerns raised by protesting students. The Centre has reportedly conveyed to Opposition parties that it is ready for discussions without any preconditions, including demands for ministerial resignations.
Earlier on Thursday, Union Health Minister JP Nadda said, “Yes, we are ready to talk to the CJP,” adding that representatives of the party could meet him either at his official residence or office.
CJP insists on talks near Jantar Mantar

However, the CJP has maintained that any dialogue with the government should take place at or near Jantar Mantar, where its protest is still underway. Moreover, it rejected the government’s proposed venue for discussions and insisted that the meeting should be held closer to the site of its ongoing agitation.
