Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister (CM) Dr Mohan Yadav is scheduled to visit Alirajpur district on Thursday (July 23, 2026), where he will participate in the Balram Agriculture Festival and the 120th birth anniversary celebrations of legendary freedom fighter Chandrashekhar Azad. During the visit, the Chief Minister is set to lay the foundation stone for development projects worth ₹287.32 crore and inaugurate completed works valued at ₹53.55 crore, taking the total value of projects to more than ₹340 crore.

The grand event will be held at the Agricultural Produce Market (Krishi Upaj Mandi) in Chandrashekhar Azad Nagar as part of the Madhya Pradesh Government's year-long observance of 2026 as the "Farmer Welfare Year" (Krishak Kalyan Varsh). The initiative aims to promote agricultural advancement while recognising the contribution of farmers to the state's economy.

Tribute at Azad's birthplace, followed by interaction with farmers

The Chief Minister will begin his visit by paying floral tributes at the statue of Chandrashekhar Azad at Azad Kutiya, the iconic revolutionary's birthplace in Chandrashekhar Azad Nagar.

He will then proceed to the main venue of the Balram Agriculture Festival, where he is expected to interact with progressive farmers from Alirajpur district. The discussions will focus on agricultural innovation, modern farming technologies, sustainable cultivation practices and measures to accelerate agricultural growth.

CM Dr Yadav will also engage with influencers from different sectors who are expected to attend the event from various districts of the division.

Progressive farmers and meritorious students to be feted

A key highlight of the programme will be the felicitation of progressive farmers and meritorious students who have demonstrated outstanding achievements in their respective fields.

According to the state government, the Balram Agriculture Festival has been organised to familiarise farmers with advanced agricultural practices, modern technologies and welfare schemes introduced by the government. Beneficiaries of various departments will also receive benefits under different public welfare programmes during the event.

The festival will feature exhibitions by departments including Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, Fisheries, Cooperation and Agricultural Engineering, showcasing the latest technologies, equipment and government initiatives aimed at boosting farm productivity and rural livelihoods.

Development push across key sectors

During his Alirajpur visit, CM Dr Yadav will lay the foundation stone for development works worth approximately ₹287.32 crore across multiple departments.

The proposed projects include road construction by the Public Works Department, rural connectivity roads under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, new high school buildings under the Tribal Affairs Department, barrages by the Water Resources Department, electricity substations by Madhya Pradesh Paschim Kshetra Vidyut Vitaran Company, renovation and construction works under the Prime Minister College of Excellence initiative, along with projects of the Panchayat and Rural Development Department and several other government agencies.

Officials said these projects are expected to significantly strengthen road connectivity, educational infrastructure, irrigation facilities, power infrastructure and rural development across the district.

The Chief Minister will also inaugurate completed infrastructure projects worth ₹53.55 crore, including newly constructed 33/11 KV electricity substations, school buildings, Anganwadi centres, Atal Seva Kendras, culverts, stop dams, community ponds, RMS works, drainage systems, paver block roads and other rural infrastructure projects aimed at improving public services and quality of life in Alirajpur district.
