Madhya Pradesh has emerged as a preferred investment destination, with leading companies competing to set up industries in the state, state Chief Minister (CM) Dr Mohan Yadav said on Friday while inaugurating a ₹900-crore power transformer manufacturing plant in Sehore.

CM Dr Yadav said the state government was committed to accelerating industrial development and ready to extend all possible support to investors, both large and small. He said investment not only strengthens the economy but also creates jobs and opens new avenues of prosperity.

The Chief Minister inaugurated CG Power and Industrial Solutions’ new power transformer manufacturing facility at Badiyakhedi in Sehore district and also rolled out the plant’s first transformer. The facility has been described as the largest of its kind in the country.

‘Passion, Potential, Policy, Performance and Production’

CM Dr Yadav said investor-friendly policies had created healthy competition among major companies seeking to establish manufacturing units in Madhya Pradesh.

He described “Passion, Potential, Policy, Performance and Production” as the state’s new industrial identity, adding that the government was focused on creating a conducive environment for investment, industrial expansion and employment generation.

The Chief Minister said Madhya Pradesh was progressing in tandem with the country’s development under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. According to him, greater industrial investment would strengthen the state’s economy while expanding resources for development and public welfare. Calling the inauguration of the transformer facility a historic occasion, CM Dr Yadav said it would play an important role in transforming India’s energy and industrial ecosystem.

“From dies to transformers, everything is now being manufactured in Sehore,” he said, highlighting the district’s growing manufacturing capabilities.

World’s Largest Transformer Plant Set Up in 13 Months

CM Dr Yadav said the facility began operations just 13 months after its bhoomi pujan in August last year, describing the pace of construction as a major achievement. The CG Power and Industrial Solutions plant is expected to manufacture a large number of transformers every year and create employment for around 2,000 people.

CM Dr Yadav said Sehore was rapidly emerging as a manufacturing hub, with industries producing everything from tyres to transformers. He also congratulated the CG group and assured the company of the state government’s support in making land available for future requirements.

Sehore Poised to Become Economic Hub

The Chief Minister said Sehore was developing rapidly as a tourism destination and was now part of the Bhopal Metropolitan City. He said the development would eventually expand industrial, commercial and employment opportunities in the district.

Improved roads, transport links and other infrastructure would further strengthen Sehore’s integration with Bhopal, he added, predicting that the region would emerge as a major centre of economic activity.

World’s Largest Transformer Testing Laboratory

CG Power and Industrial Solutions CEO Amar Kaul said the new facility marked an important milestone for the company. Kaul said Prime Minister Modi had set a target of increasing manufacturing’s contribution to India’s GDP from 13% to 25% by 2035.

He said the Sehore unit had created 2,000 jobs and was equipped with modern production technology. The facility also houses what the company described as the world’s largest transformer testing laboratory.

According to Kaul, 36% of the electricity required by the unit will be sourced from solar energy. He said the company remained committed to contributing to the development of India and the prosperity of Madhya Pradesh.

CM Dr Yadav also inspected the facility, reviewing its manufacturing processes, modern technology and production capacity. He discussed operations and expansion plans with company officials and stressed the need for greater industrial investment and local employment.

Revenue Minister Karan Singh Verma, MLAs Sudesh Rai and Ramakant Bhargava, other public representatives, company officials and employees were present at the programme.
