Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister (CM) Dr Mohan Yadav on Monday transferred ₹3,308 crore directly into the bank accounts of more than 82.7 lakh farmers under the Chief Minister Kisan Kalyan Yojana, reaffirming the State Government's commitment to strengthening the agricultural sector and enhancing farmers' income.
The financial assistance, amounting to ₹4,000 per beneficiary, was released through a single-click transfer during the Balram Krishi Mahotsav held at the Khandwa district headquarters. The Chief Minister also visited an exhibition showcasing advanced agricultural technologies and interacted with farmers participating in the event.

Balram Krishi Mahotsav to promote scientific, natural farming
Addressing a large gathering, CM Dr Yadav described the Balram Krishi Mahotsav as more than a ceremonial event, calling it a statewide campaign aimed at connecting farmers with scientific agriculture, modern technology and sustainable farming practices.
He urged cultivators to embrace natural and organic farming, test soil before sowing crops, minimise the excessive use of chemical fertilisers and diversify cultivation to improve productivity and income.
Praising Khandwa's agricultural legacy, the Chief Minister said the district's fertile black soil had enabled farmers to emerge as pioneers in agriculture, water conservation and environmental protection through innovation and entrepreneurship.
Govt committed to doubling farmers' income
CM Dr Yadav went on to say that the state government, under the leadership of Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi, continues to implement farmer-centric policies to make agriculture more profitable. Referring to farmers as the nation's food providers, he said every eligible beneficiary had received ₹4,000 directly into their bank account under the Samman Nidhi initiative.

Highlighting the government's broader vision, the Chief Minister said Madhya Pradesh is observing 2026 as Krishak Kalyan Varsh (Farmer Welfare Year) with the objective of doubling farmers' income. Balram Krishi Mahotsavs are being organised across different regions of the state to encourage scientific farming and improve agricultural productivity.
He also announced that, following the current monsoon season, farmers would receive daytime electricity for irrigation in addition to the existing night-time supply. The government, he added, aims to raise Madhya Pradesh's contribution to India's milk production from the current 9 per cent to 20 per cent.
Development, education and welfare initiatives highlighted
The Chief Minister said the state's irrigated area has expanded significantly over the past two decades, aided by improved irrigation infrastructure, reliable electricity, better roads, natural farming initiatives and the use of modern technologies such as drones for fertiliser and seed application.
He further announced that government-operated state road transport buses would begin operations from next month, while beneficiaries under the Ladli Behna Yojana would continue receiving ₹1,500 every month. He also highlighted the availability of air ambulance services for needy patients, ongoing preparations for Simhastha 2028 and development projects worth ₹3,000 crore at Omkareshwar Dham.
CM Dr Yadav also said the Madhya Pradesh Assembly had passed the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) Bill after an extensive public consultation process, adding that the legislation reflected the principles of equality and uniformity in governance.

Police battalion, new road and Sandipani schools’ establishment announced
Among the major announcements made during the event, the Chief Minister declared that a Police Battalion would be established in Khandwa and that construction of the Mundi-Khandwa Road would begin soon, with tenders scheduled to be floated before 15 September.
He also announced that 275 Sandipani Schools had been approved in the first phase, with 136 already completed and 105 inaugurated. Another 200 schools will be established in the second phase to promote quality education rooted in Indian values.
During the programme, CM Dr Yadav honoured farmers for excellence in organic farming, hi-tech agriculture and food processing. He also felicitated meritorious students and social media influencers with certificates of appreciation.
Concluding his address, the Chief Minister appealed to citizens to actively participate in the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign ahead of Independence Day and pay tribute to India's freedom fighters while reaffirming the government's commitment to inclusive development and farmers' welfare.
