Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister (CM) Dr Mohan Yadav once again displayed his down-to-earth and approachable side during his visit to Tikamgarh, when he unexpectedly stopped his convoy to enjoy a glass of lassi at a roadside shop. Videos and photographs of the moment have since gained traction on social media.

During his visit to Tikamgarh, CM Dr Yadav was travelling through a local area when he suddenly instructed his convoy to stop. He then stepped out and walked towards a roadside lassi shop, catching local residents and shopkeepers by surprise.

The Chief Minister sat down at the shop and enjoyed a chilled glass of lassi. He also praised its taste, while people gathered around to catch a glimpse of him. Several locals took photographs with the Chief Minister during the brief interaction.

The unscheduled stop quickly became a talking point, with the images and video of CM Dr Yadav enjoying the local beverage circulating widely on social media.

Shopkeeper refuses to accept payment

After finishing his lassi, CM Dr Yadav offered money to the shopkeeper for the drink. However, the shopkeeper initially refused to accept the payment. Despite the gesture, the Chief Minister did not leave without paying. He insisted on paying for the lassi and settled the bill before departing from the shop.

People present at the spot appreciated the Chief Minister's gesture, particularly his decision to pay despite the shopkeeper's refusal. His informal interaction with the local community also drew attention online.

During his brief stay at the shop, CM Dr Yadav interacted with local residents and small traders. He enquired about their well-being and discussed issues associated with local businesses.

The Chief Minister also praised Bundelkhand's rich culinary traditions and spoke about the cultural identity of Tikamgarh. He emphasised the importance of promoting local products and giving greater recognition to the region's traditional food and businesses.

CM Dr Yadav said Tikamgarh and the wider Bundelkhand region have a distinct cultural identity, with their local products and culinary traditions attracting people.

He stressed that public participation would be essential to promote these products and strengthen their appeal. The Chief Minister's roadside stop, meanwhile, offered a glimpse of his informal interaction with ordinary citizens during his Tikamgarh visit.
