The initiative, scheduled for the Cabinet meeting on Sunday, underscores the state government's emphasis on the economical use of public resources while reinforcing its commitment to environmentally responsible governance. The decision is being viewed as another example of the Chief Minister's efforts to encourage simplicity, accountability and the judicious use of taxpayers' money.

According to the official schedule, CM Dr Yadav, all Cabinet ministers and their staff will assemble at the Chief Minister's residence at 10 am. From there, they will travel together to the Cabinet meeting venue in three electric buses.

As part of the exercise, the ministers' official cars, pilot vehicles, escort units and follow-up security vehicles will remain stationed at the Chief Minister's residence. The move is intended to minimise the deployment of government vehicles for a single event while demonstrating a practical commitment to resource conservation.

Officials said the initiative reflects the government's broader vision of ensuring that public resources are utilised efficiently without compromising administrative functioning.

Senior bureaucrats to join the initiative

The initiative will not be limited to the political executive alone. Senior government officials attending the Cabinet meeting have also been directed to participate in the exercise.

They will leave their official vehicles at the Kushabhau Thakre Complex before gathering at 10 am. From there, they too will travel collectively to the meeting venue in electric buses.

By extending the initiative to the administrative machinery, the state government aims to reinforce a culture of collective responsibility in reducing unnecessary expenditure and promoting environmentally friendly modes of transport.

Focus on simplicity, responsible use of public funds

The state government believes the initiative will contribute to fuel conservation, reduce the use of government resources and send a strong message about responsible governance. It also aligns with Chief Minister Dr Yadav's vision of embedding simplicity, financial discipline and transparency at every level of administration.

Place where the Cabinet meeting will be held

Officials said the move reflects the government's priority of ensuring that public money is spent wisely while encouraging sustainable practices within the functioning of the state administration. The collective use of electric buses is expected to serve as a visible demonstration of the government's commitment to balancing administrative efficiency with environmental responsibility and fiscal discipline.
