Madhya Pradesh took a major leap towards strengthening its industrial landscape on Wednesday as the state’s Chief Minister (CM) Dr Mohan Yadav laid the foundation stone for a new ₹272-crore manufacturing unit of LiuGong India Pvt Ltd in the Pithampur industrial area of Dhar district, officials said. The project, as per officials, is expected to boost manufacturing capacity, generate employment and reinforce the state's position as a preferred investment destination.

Launching the project by lighting the ceremonial lamp, the state’s top political leader described the development as a milestone for the Malwa region and said the new facility would contribute significantly to India's manufacturing ambitions under Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi's 'Make in India, Make for the World' vision.

Addressing the gathering, CM Dr Yadav said Dhar's industrial belt has evolved into one of Madhya Pradesh's key growth engines. He noted that the region has witnessed rapid industrial expansion under the leadership of PM Modi and referred to the inauguration of a major textile park aimed at benefiting more than six lakh farmers.

He then said the new LiuGong facility would open a fresh chapter in the state's industrial development and strengthen its manufacturing ecosystem. Congratulating the company, he said the investment reflected growing confidence among global industries in Madhya Pradesh's business-friendly environment.

CM sheds light on govt’s industrial policy

Highlighting the government's industrial policy, CM Dr Yadav said the state attracted investment proposals worth ₹30 lakh crore during the Global Investors Summit (GIS) held in Bhopal in 2025, adding that projects worth over ₹10 lakh crore have already moved into the implementation stage.

He further claimed that between January 1 and June 30, 2026, the central province received fresh investment proposals exceeding ₹76,862 crore, which are expected to generate employment for around 82,000 youths. According to him, Narmadapuram alone attracted investment proposals worth ₹11,500 crore, while foreign direct investment commitments crossed ₹10,000 crore.

The Chief Minister said these figures demonstrate the state's growing appeal among domestic and international investors.
