Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister (CM) Dr Mohan Yadav held a high-level meeting with UAE Cabinet Member and Minister of Economy and Tourism HE Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri in Dubai on Monday, pitching the state as an attractive destination for investment across the hospitality and industrial sectors.

During the meeting at the UAE Ministry of Economy and Tourism, CM Dr Yadav formally invited Al Marri to participate in the upcoming Global Investors Summit (GIS) in Madhya Pradesh. Accepting the invitation, the UAE minister assured him that a special delegation from Dubai would soon visit Madhya Pradesh to explore investment opportunities in the hotel and hospitality sector.

Investment opportunities across key sectors

The discussions covered a broad range of sectors, including mining, textiles, forestry and tourism, with both sides exploring possibilities for deeper cooperation.

CM Dr Yadav briefed the UAE minister on Madhya Pradesh’s transparent policies, land ownership regulations, labour reforms and protection mechanisms available to foreign investors. He also highlighted the positive experience of UAE companies already operating in the state, reiterating the government’s commitment to providing a conducive environment for new investors.

The proposed investment cooperation comes as Madhya Pradesh seeks to attract greater foreign capital and expand industrial activity across multiple sectors.

Push for stronger aviation connectivity

Aviation connectivity also figured prominently in the discussions. CM Dr Yadav outlined key provisions of Madhya Pradesh’s new aviation policy and highlighted the potential for expanding air links between the state and the UAE.

Al Marri, who also chairs the UAE’s General Civil Aviation Authority, assured the Chief Minister of full cooperation in expanding aviation operations between Madhya Pradesh and the UAE.

Improved connectivity is expected to provide a boost to tourism, cargo movement and business travel, while potentially opening new avenues for trade and investment between the two sides.

Exploring Dubai’s industrial and innovation models

CM Dr Yadav also sought details about the UAE’s Hatta Economic Zone Development Project and its model for developing specialised industrial parks.

He said Madhya Pradesh was similarly working towards establishing modern industrial clusters and Special Economic Zones (SEZs) to support investment and economic growth.

The Chief Minister also discussed the Dubai Future Foundation model with Al Marri, who serves as its CEO. Al Marri assured Madhya Pradesh of technical and strategic support to explore the establishment of a similar innovation and future-oriented foundation in the state.

The state government has directed officials to ensure swift implementation of decisions taken during the meeting, as well as investment priorities shared previously.

The proposed Dubai investment delegation, particularly for the hotel and hospitality sector, is expected to provide a direct opportunity to take these discussions forward and identify projects that can contribute to Madhya Pradesh’s tourism and industrial growth.
