Police have announced a reward of ₹50,000 for information leading to the arrest of the perpetrators or revealing the conspiracy behind the sensational double murder of an elderly couple in Ashbagh, Bhopal. The announcement comes several days after the crime, with investigators still struggling to find a major breakthrough in the case.

The reward was declared by Police Commissioner Sanjay Kumar as authorities intensified efforts to identify those responsible for the killings that have shaken the city and sparked concerns over public safety.

High-Level Review Meeting Held

A high-level review meeting was held at the Police Commissioner’s office to assess the progress of the investigation and determine the next course of action. Senior officials from multiple investigative units participated in the meeting, reflecting the seriousness with which the case is being treated.

The review was attended by officers from the Crime Branch, Cyber Cell and a 12-member Special Investigation Team (SIT), which has been constituted specifically to investigate the murders. The meeting was conducted in the presence of Deputy Commissioner of Police Akhil Patel.

According to police officials, investigators are examining every possible angle in an attempt to establish the motive and identify the perpetrators. Technical evidence, digital records, and other forensic leads are being scrutinized as part of the ongoing probe.

Police Commissioner Sanjay Kumar said the investigation is being carried out in an organised and systematic manner, with dedicated teams working simultaneously on different aspects of the case. However, he acknowledged that investigators have not yet received any major lead that could significantly advance the probe.

The murder of the elderly couple has created an atmosphere of fear and anxiety among residents of the Ashbagh area. The brutality of the crime and the absence of arrests have left local residents concerned and demanding swift action from law enforcement agencies.
