Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan, regarded as Mr Perfectionist in the Hindi film industry, reportedly got hitched to his long-time partner Gauri Spratt in an intimate wedding ceremony held at his residence in Mumbai’s upscale Pali Hills area on Sunday. After being in a relationship for almost a year, the couple solemnised their marriage in the presence of close family members, friends and a select group of guests, preferring simplicity over extravagance.

As per reports, the couple registered their marriage under the Indian Constitution’s Special Marriage Act, keeping the celebrations low-key and personal. In contrast to the film fraternity’s lavish weddings, Aamir and Gauri’s special day reflected warmth, elegance and togetherness.

Alliance remains a close-knit affair

Sources close to the actor said the wedding remained a close-knit affair, with only immediate family and close friends in attendance. Meanwhile, both Aamir and Gauri opted for elegant traditional outfits rather than elaborate designer ensembles.

First images emerging from the ceremony captured the newlyweds sharing joyful moments with their loved ones as they officially embarked on a new phase of life together. Aamir donned a classic sherwani, while Gauri chose to wear a graceful traditional bridal ensemble, complementing the intimate nature of the occasion.

The alliance comes months after Aamir publicly introduced Gauri during his 60th birthday celebrations. Since then, he had often spoken warmly about their relationship, terming it one that already felt like marriage.

Friendship between duo blossoms into love

Before cupid struck Aamir, he was married to filmmaker Kiran Rao, with whom he announced an amicable separation in 2021. The former couple have a son, Azad Rao Khan, and continue to co-parent him.

Aamir had first got married to Reena Dutta, with whom he has two children, namely, Ira Khan and Junaid Khan.

Following his separation from Rao, Khan largely distanced himself away from the spotlight. His relationship with Gauri gradually came into the spotlight after the duo reportedly rekindled a friendship that had spanned more than 25 years. The pair, according to reports, reconnected through Aamir’s cousin, Nuzhat Khan, and what began as a renewed friendship eventually blossomed into romance.

Gauri Spratt’s background

Gauri Spratt is a prominent name in India’s salon and beauty industry. She has long been associated with the management and operations of BBlunt salons and is the daughter of Rita Spratt, who ran a well-known salon in Bengaluru.

Reports claim that after her relationship with Aamir grew serious, Gauri relocated to Mumbai and is now serving as the Creative Head at Aamir Khan Productions.
