India defeated West Indies by 14 runs in the third T20 International at Holkar Stadium in Indore on October 11, 2026. With this victory, India took a 2-1 lead in the five-match T20I series. Abhishek Sharma’s explosive batting and Arshdeep Singh’s crucial wickets proved decisive in a high-scoring contest.

Abhishek Sharma Lights Up Indore

After winning the toss, West Indies opted to bowl first. India lost Sanju Samson early, but Abhishek Sharma launched a spectacular counterattack. The left-handed batter smashed 69 runs off just 30 balls, including five sixes and six boundaries.

Ishan Kishan provided excellent support with 37 runs off 18 deliveries. Their aggressive batting helped India reach 115 runs in just 8.2 overs, putting the hosts in a commanding position.

However, West Indies fought back through Roston Chase, who dismissed Kishan and Indian captain Shreyas Iyer in quick succession. Abhishek also departed soon afterwards, triggering a middle-order collapse.

Tilak Varma contributed 28 runs, while Nitish Kumar Reddy scored 21 and Axar Patel added 20. Prince Yadav’s unbeaten 13 off six balls helped India finish at 223 all out in 20 overs.

West Indies Fight Back but Fall Short

Chasing 224, West Indies suffered an early setback when Arshdeep Singh dismissed captain Shai Hope for five runs. However, Shimron Hetmyer and Kamil Pooran revived the innings with an aggressive 60-run partnership.

Hetmyer scored 43 off 26 balls, while Pooran contributed 42 off 27 deliveries. Their dismissals shifted the momentum back towards India.

Naman Dhir played a crucial role by removing both set batters. Sherfane Rutherford added 32 runs, but India’s bowlers continued to pick up wickets at important moments.

Shamar Springer produced a late counterattack, smashing an unbeaten 35 off just 11 balls. Nevertheless, West Indies finished at 209/7, falling 14 runs short.

Arshdeep Singh Delivers Under Pressure

Arshdeep Singh led India’s bowling attack with three wickets for 44 runs. Naman Dhir claimed two wickets, while Axar Patel and Nitish Kumar Reddy picked up one each.

India’s victory gave the team a crucial advantage in the series. The fourth T20I is scheduled for October 14 in Hyderabad, where India will look to strengthen its lead.
