Chhattisgarh’s Raipur police on Wednesday laid hands on six people, including the father of a 16-year-old girl, on charges of allegedly raping the minor repeatedly, forging her Aadhar Card to prove she is an adult and handing over her newborn son to another person, police said.

According to police, the girl alleged that her father raped her at a kin’s house in Amlihdih and threatened her with life if she dared to reveal the incident to anyone. The dreaded girl did not report the incident initially, fearing for her life.

Girl impregnated by father after numerous rape incidents

Police said the accused father allegedly raped the girl on multiple occasions, owing to which she became pregnant. After the girl told about this to her aunt, her aunt allegedly informed her father.

The accused father then bought abortion pills, sought help from the girl’s aunt, assaulted the minor daughter and forced her to consume medication, resulting in a miscarriage.

The girl’s ordeal did not end even here, as her father continued to violate her, following which she again became pregnant in 2015. After learning about it, he took her to the house of a woman acquaintance, who offered to lodge her there and ensure her safe delivery.

A few days later, the woman allegedly sent the girl to the house of one of her friends, where she stayed for 2 months. As mentioned in the complaint, the father’s acquaintance concealed the girl’s age, presented her as a major and claimed she was married before admitting her to Vasudev Hospital in Danganiya locality of the city.

The girl gave birth to a baby some time later through a caesarean section. Police said that post-delivery, the baby was handed over to another person by the doctor, the girl’s father and other people involved in the case. Moreover, she was allegedly made to sign several documents, which she did out of fear.

After the delivery, the girl was kept at the house of her father’s acquaintance’s friend for a period of 15 days. Later, her father took her back home.

According to the complaint, the accused forged the Aadhar card of the survivor, increased her age and falsely portrayed her as an adult and married to facilitate the delivery at the hospital.

Sections invoked against the accused

On the basis of the complaint lodged by the survivor, the New Rajendra Nagar police registered a case against her father and other accused under Sections 64(2)(f), 65, 336, 337, 61(2), 351(2), 115(2), 89, 3(5) BNS, sections 4(2), 5(n), 6 of POCSO Act, section 81 of Juvenile Justice Act.

Realising the gravity of the case, senior police officials directed the New Rajendra Nagar police to arrest the accused, following which, six people, including the girl’s father, fell into police dragnet. Two cell phones were also seized during this, and according to police, further action is being initiated against all accused.
