Bhopal : Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav reached Rewa directly from Delhi on Sunday evening and reviewed the situation caused by heavy rainfall, as well as relief and rescue operations in the Rewa-Shahdol divisions. The Chief Minister directed that relief camps in flood-affected areas be operated effectively. Special medical camps should be organised in all flood-affected villages and urban wards. If people have lost food supplies, household belongings or houses due to the floods, immediate assistance should be provided to them under RBC 6-4. Deputy Chief Minister Shri Rajendra Shukla and Chief Secretary Shri Ashok Barnwal were also present at the meeting.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the government stands firmly with all those affected by the floods. “We will ensure the safety of every person, animal and livestock. He said, “Relief and rescue operations are underway. No flood-affected person will be allowed to face any hardship.”
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav directed that relief camps in areas where floodwater remains should be operated properly. Adequate food supplies, drinking water and medical facilities must be ensured at the camps, with special attention to cleanliness and sanitation. In areas where the floodwater has receded, government teams should be deployed to ensure that people have easy access to food and drinking water. The Chief Minister directed that all water sources and hand pumps be chlorinated with bleaching powder and other appropriate measures to ensure the safety of drinking water. Special medical and treatment camps should be organised in all villages and urban wards affected by flooding. Cases of fever, cold and cough should also be treated seriously. Electricity supply in villages affected by heavy rainfall should be restored immediately. Veterinary teams should also be deployed in flood-affected areas to treat animals. In case of animal deaths, their disposal should be carried out scientifically and in accordance with prescribed procedures.
Launch Special Cleanliness Drive
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav directed that adequate arrangements for food, water and fodder be ensured for animals in gaushalas and other shelters. In case of reports of crop damage, immediate surveys should be conducted. If crops were in the initial stages of sowing and have been destroyed, arrangements should be made to provide farmers with seeds and other necessary inputs.
Officials and employees of the Revenue, Panchayat and Rural Development, Health, Veterinary and Agriculture departments should remain at their respective places of posting and in the field. Teams comprising these officials should be deployed in affected areas. A special cleanliness drive should be launched immediately in all urban local bodies and villages to prevent the spread of diseases. The Chief Minister directed officials to continuously monitor local conditions and take prompt action as required. There should be no shortcomings in relief and rescue operations. The district administration must provide all possible assistance to affected people with sensitivity, alertness and promptness.

Inspects Waterlogging-Affected Area
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav inspected the waterlogging situation in the Gulab Nagar area of Rewa. He directed the administration to provide compensation to those who have suffered losses, with utmost sensitivity. He said that the administration had responded promptly to the natural challenge.
Administrative officials were given necessary directions from the safety perspective for districts where the rainfall system is likely to remain active between August 24 and 27, 2026. They were instructed to maintain continuous vigil in potentially affected areas and ensure all necessary relief and rescue arrangements as required. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav directed that medical arrangements in flood-affected areas be made with utmost caution. He also instructed officials to take immediate action in the event of heavy rainfall anywhere in the coming days.
