The Boston-based man also shared screenshots of threatening messages he received on WhatsApp on his official ‘X’ handle, claiming that unidentified persons had issued warnings to him after he launched a signature campaign demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

Messages sent in Hindi

One of the messages sent to Dipke in Hindi translated to, “Listen, you will get paid to close the account. Otherwise, we can get you killed even in America.” Another message read, “We have your number. It won’t take us time to find your house.”

The threats have surfaced at a time when the CJP has gained massive traction online, transitioning from an internet satire to a politically charged online movement attracting nationwide attention.

Signature campaign picks pace

Dipke claimed that he began receiving the threats shortly after he initiated an online petition demanding Union Minister Pradhan’s resignation over alleged irregularities linked to the NEET 2026 paper leak case. Until the filing of the report, the campaign had garnered more than 2.79 lakh signatures, reflecting growing anger of the commoners and frustration over the exam controversy.

The campaign struck a chord with students and young social media users, many of whom have amplified the movement across digital platforms through memes, satire and political commentary.

The movement, launched shortly after the Chief Justice of India (CJI) called the Indian youth ‘cockroaches’ and ‘parasites,’ found support among several opposition leaders, including Akhilesh Yadav and Mahua Moitra, while critics dismissed it as a fleeting internet trend. However, the controversy deepened on Thursday after the CJP’s ‘X’ account was withheld in India following directions from the Centre.
