A disturbing video from Bihar’s Sitamarhi district has triggered a police investigation after a man was allegedly seen performing occult rituals involving young children at a cremation ground.
The video, which surfaced on social media, reportedly shows a man in red clothing handling children roughly, including lifting and spinning one child in the air. Some children can also be seen lying on the ground.
Rituals Reportedly Held Regularly
According to reports circulating about the incident, the activities were allegedly carried out at a cremation ground in Mahadev Patti village. The man has been identified in reports as Shravan Bhagat, who is described as a tantrik.
Reports claim such rituals were conducted regularly on Mondays and Fridays. However, these claims and the exact purpose of the rituals are now being examined by authorities.
Concerns Over Children’s Safety
The visuals have triggered concern among local residents and activists, particularly over the physical handling of the children.
Child-safety experts have repeatedly warned that forceful shaking or rough handling of infants and toddlers can cause serious injuries. The circumstances surrounding the children in the video, including whether they were brought there voluntarily by their families, are part of the investigation.
Police Raid Site, Tantrik Reportedly Missing
After the video surfaced, police reportedly reached the location and conducted a raid. However, Bhagat had already left the site.
Authorities are now investigating the incident and attempting to establish who was involved, how long the practice had been taking place and whether any child suffered injuries.
Public Asked to Share Information
Police are also expected to examine the viral footage and gather information from local residents who may have witnessed the alleged rituals.
The incident has renewed concerns over the use of unverified occult practices involving children and the need to ensure that minors are protected from potentially dangerous rituals.
