Congress MP Shashi Tharoor on Tuesday commented on the ‘high tea’ meeting scheduled at the residence of Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi. Speaking to reporters before attending the meeting, Tharoor said it would be premature to comment on discussions that had not yet taken place. He emphasised that the message behind the meeting was important and needed to be consistently communicated.

Tharoor Says It Is Too Early to Comment

When reporters asked Tharoor about the meeting, he responded, “I am going to the meeting now. How can I tell you about something that has not happened yet?” His response indicated that he preferred to wait until the meeting concluded before sharing his views on the discussions or their possible outcomes.

Tharoor also highlighted the importance of the message associated with the gathering, saying, “This message is so important that efforts must be made continuously to communicate it. That is the message.”

Rahul Gandhi Hosts Meeting at His Residence

The high-tea gathering at Rahul Gandhi’s residence has drawn attention amid ongoing political discussions within the Congress and the broader opposition. Such meetings provide an opportunity for leaders to exchange views, discuss key issues and coordinate their approach on matters of political importance.

However, the specific agenda and outcomes of the meeting were not clear from Tharoor’s remarks before he attended the gathering.

Focus on the Message

Tharoor’s comments focused on the importance of consistently communicating a political message rather than speculating about the meeting’s proceedings in advance. His remarks come at a time when opposition leaders continue to engage in discussions on key political and parliamentary issues. The details of the meeting and any decisions taken by the participating leaders would become clearer after the discussions concluded.

For now, Tharoor has stressed the significance of the message while leaving the specifics of the meeting open until its proceedings are complete.
