Indian Army Secures Gold
Troops from the Indian Army’s Assam Regiment won gold at Exercise Cambrian Patrol 2026, held in Wales from October 2 to 12. Competing against more than 100 teams, the Indian contingent earned a place among just 10 teams awarded gold medals.
Pakistan Army Wins Silver

One of the Toughest Military Patrol Exercises
Organised by the British Army, Cambrian Patrol is widely regarded as one of the world’s most demanding military patrolling exercises. Participants face physically and mentally challenging tasks that assess navigation, reconnaissance, battlefield skills, leadership and decision-making under pressure.
Global Military Participation
The 2026 exercise featured 140 patrols from 36 countries, according to Pakistan’s official announcement. Teams were evaluated on their performance throughout the exercise, with medals awarded based on their assessed standards.
Recognition for Both Armies
The results mark a significant achievement for both countries’ military teams, highlighting their preparation, discipline and operational skills in an international setting. India’s Assam Regiment took gold, while Pakistan’s 59 Punjab Regiment earned silver at the demanding UK military exercise.
