Actor Imran Khan, best known for Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na and I Hate Luv Storys, is back in the spotlight after being detained during a protest in Mumbai. His appearance has also sparked fresh speculation about whether the actor could return to Bollywood after years away from mainstream films.

Imran Khan, Girlfriend Lekha Washington Detained
Imran Khan participated in a demonstration at Mumbai’s August Kranti Maidan on October 10. His girlfriend, actor Lekha Washington, and cousin Zayn Marie Khan were also present. Mumbai Police detained the three, reportedly because the gathering did not have the required permission. They were released later that night.
Following the incident, Imran shared a photograph of himself inside a police van on social media, attracting attention from fans.

Lekha Washington Makes Allegations
After their release, Lekha Washington shared videos on social media, alleging that police prevented them from leaving and booking a cab to return home.
On October 11, Mumbai Police reportedly registered an FIR against Imran under Sections 223 and 189 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) in connection with the protest.

From Bollywood Heartthrob to a Long Acting Break
Imran made his lead acting debut in 2008 with Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na, directed by Abbas Tyrewala and produced by Aamir Khan. He played Jai Singh Rathore, popularly known as Rats, opposite Genelia D’Souza.
He later appeared in films such as I Hate Luv Storys and worked alongside leading Bollywood stars, including Kareena Kapoor in Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu.
After staying away from mainstream Bollywood films for several years, Imran’s recent public appearance has renewed interest in his life and career.
