Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister (CM) Dr Mohan Yadav on Thursday inaugurated advanced optical fibre and battery manufacturing plants at Pithampur in Dhar district, marking a fresh push towards industrial growth and employment generation in the state.
Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat was also present at the inauguration ceremony on August 20.

The newly inaugurated units include an advanced optical fibre manufacturing plant operated by Corsis and a battery manufacturing facility by Volters. CM Dr Yadav expressed satisfaction over the launch, saying the industries would create employment opportunities for thousands of people while contributing to the economic growth of both Madhya Pradesh and the country.
Speaking to the media after the inauguration, CM Dr Yadav said the launch of the two employment-oriented industries marked another important step in the state's industrial journey.
“More than 30,000 people will get employment here in the future,” the Chief Minister said, highlighting the scale of opportunities expected to emerge from the new industrial units.
German technology to drive production
CM Dr Yadav said modern industrial facilities had been established at Pithampur, adding that the unit manufacturing digital fibre and lithium batteries was among the three largest such units in the country.
He said the industries had been established using German technology and would play an important role in strengthening the state's industrial base. According to the Chief Minister, the investment would not only create jobs for the youth but also contribute to Madhya Pradesh's prosperity and the country's broader economic development.

The inauguration comes as the state government seeks to translate investment commitments and memorandums of understanding (MoUs) into projects on the ground.
Dhar emerging as an industrial powerhouse
CM Dr Yadav described Dhar as one of the state's fastest-growing districts in economic and industrial terms. He said the development taking place in Pithampur was opening the door to a new era for the state and its young population.
The Chief Minister noted that this was his second visit to the area within a month. During his previous visit, several industrial projects had also been inaugurated, he said. Referring to the MoUs signed earlier, Yadav said their implementation was now becoming visible on the ground.
He pointed out that Dhar, which was once known for its economic backwardness, had undergone a significant transformation. Today, he said, the tribal-majority district and Pithampur were among the fastest-developing regions in Madhya Pradesh.
The latest industrial projects are expected to further strengthen Pithampur's position as a major manufacturing hub while creating new employment avenues for the state's youth.
