Kolkata, October 13, 2026: West Bengal government employees and pensioners are set to receive a major financial boost ahead of the festive season. The state government has decided to release October salaries and pensions on October 15, 2026, well ahead of the usual payment schedule. The payment will also include the revised Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR), taking the total rate to 38%.
The decision is expected to provide financial relief to thousands of employees and pensioners as preparations for the festive season continue.

October Salary to Be Credited on October 15
According to a memorandum issued by the West Bengal Finance Department on September 23, the government has scheduled the disbursement of October salaries, wages, stipends, honorariums and pensions for October 15.
The move will allow eligible beneficiaries to receive their payments earlier than usual. The advance disbursement is particularly significant during the festive season, when household expenses and shopping budgets typically increase.
The order covers government employees as well as eligible pensioners and family pensioners.
DA Increased From 18% to 38%
Along with the early salary payment, employees will benefit from a 20 percentage-point increase in Dearness Allowance. The DA rate has been raised from 18% to 38% of basic pay, effective October 1, 2026.
Pensioners and family pensioners will also receive the corresponding increase in Dearness Relief.
The revised rates will apply to eligible beneficiaries according to the applicable government orders and pay rules.

Who Will Benefit From the Decision?
The announcement covers eligible West Bengal government employees and pensioners. The revised allowances will provide additional financial support by increasing the amount payable alongside basic salary or pension.
The actual increase in monthly earnings will depend on an individual’s basic pay, applicable service rules and deductions.

What Happens Next?
With October payments scheduled for October 15, employees can expect their salaries and revised allowances to be disbursed together, wherever applicable.
The decision combines early salary disbursement with an increased DA rate, offering eligible government employees and pensioners additional financial relief ahead of the festive season.
