The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) on Thursday announced that the VIP Break Darshan at the revered Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Tirumala shall remain suspended on several dates between July-September 2026. The move has been taken to ensure the smooth conduct of major religious rituals and to facilitate better crowd management amid a series of significant temple festivals.
The temple administration issued an official statement on Thursday, in which the Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) of the shrine said the restrictions have been imposed in anticipation of a huge influx of devotees during these auspicious occasions.

VIP Darshans cancelled on multiple dates in July
As per the temple administration, VIP Break Darshans will remain suspended on July 14 owing to Koil Alwar Tirumanjanam, on July 17 for Anivara Asthanam, on July 19 to mark the Pedda Maryada offered to the Swamiji of Sri Andavan Ashramam, and on July 29 in view of the Chaturmasya Sankalpam of the Tirumala Jeeyar Swamijis.
The TTD’s administrative officials said the aforementioned observances are among the temple’s most important annual religious events, requiring elaborate traditional rituals and extensive administrative arrangements.
Restrictions to remain in place through August, September
The suspension of the VIP Darshans, as per temple administration authorities, will continue in August too. The facility will not be available on August 22 for Ankurarpanam, the ceremonial prelude to the annual Pavitrotsavams, and again on August 24 during the second day of the festival for Pavitra Samarpana.
Temple authorities said the temporary restrictions are aimed at ensuring that religious ceremonies are conducted without disruption, while concurrently enabling larger numbers of general devotees to participate in the celebrations.
Complete suspension to remain in force during Srivari Brahmotsavams
Furthermore, the restrictions shall extend into September, beginning with the suspension of VIP Break Darshans on September 8 for Koil Alwar Tirumanjanam associated with the Srivari Brahmotsavams, followed by September 14 for Ankurarpanam.
A still from the shrine's queue
Most significantly, the TTD announced that VIP Break Darshans will remain completely suspended from September 15 to September 23, 2026, through the 9-day-long Srivari Brahmotsavams, one of the grandest and most revered festivals celebrated at the Tirumala temple.
The temple administration is expecting an exceptionally large turnout of pilgrims during this period and has prioritised arrangements for common devotees.
Recommendation letters restricted too
The temple authorities further cleared the air, saying that VIP recommendation letters will not be accepted on the day preceding the notified dates, except in the case of Protocol Dignitaries.
They then appealed for cooperation from the general public, urging devotees to carefully consider the revised schedule before planning their pilgrimage to Tirumala.
