Reports claim that Sangeeta mentioned in the petition that Vijay was in an extramarital relationship with an actress. She further alleged that she dicovered the illicit relationship in 2021, and despite Vijay's purported assurances of halting the relationship, it continued.

Section 27(1)(a) and 27(1)(d) of the Special Marriage Act, 1954, have been invoked in the petition, which permit divorce on grounds of adultery and cruelty. The case is now awaiting judicial determination in the district court.
