On June 13 2026, a 35 year old man died after allegedly falling into a well located on a rural pathway between Nagla Tiyapur and Nagla Amar villages in the Bharthana area. The deceased has been identified as Hariom alias Seetu, a resident of Padiyapura village. The incident has prompted a police investigation, with authorities yet to determine whether it was an accident or if any other factors were involved.
According to villagers, the incident came to light when locals noticed that a person had fallen into a well situated along the village route. On hearing the information, residents immediately rushed to the spot and began rescue efforts. After considerable effort, they managed to retrieve the body from the well and informed the police.

Officials from Bharthana Police Station, including Circle Officer Ram Davan Maurya and Station House Officer Vikram Singh, reached the scene soon after being alerted. A fire brigade team was also called in to assist in the recovery operation. The police took custody of the body and completed formal legal procedures, including the inquest (panchanama). The body was then sent for post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.
Preliminary information shared by family members suggests that the deceased had been under significant mental stress for some time. According to relatives, Hariom’s condition reportedly worsened after his father, Ashok Kumar, sold ancestral property, which included around 35 bighas of roadside agricultural land and two residential houses. Family members stated that this development had a deep emotional impact on him, after which his behaviour changed noticeably.

Relatives further said that Hariom had been struggling with depression and was often seen wandering aimlessly between nearby villages. On the day of the incident, he reportedly left home to visit his sister’s residence but later deviated from his route and moved toward Nagla Amar village, where the incident occurred. Despite these details, police officials have clarified that the exact circumstances of the death remain unclear.
Investigators have not ruled out any possibility, including accidental fall or other underlying causes. Authorities have stated that a final conclusion will be reached only after the post-mortem report and further investigation are completed.
