Telangana crime: A man who used to drive an auto rickshaw to make a living in Telangana’s Kamareddy district allegedly drowned three of his minor daughters in a lake in the town days ago, the police reported on Sunday. According to the police, the accused revealed during the interrogation that he was struggling with financial woes, which prompted him to take the extreme step.
Accused, his wife approached cops with missing complaint
If the police are to be believed, the accused and his wife approached them on March 6, 2026, claiming that three of their daughters, aged eight, six and five respectively, had gone missing. The cops plunged into action, registered a case and resorted to a search operation to trace the girls.
The police questioned locals and circulated pictures of the girls through messaging platforms to trace them at the earliest.

Telangana crime: Inconsistent accounts of the accused blow the lid off the crime
The police questioned the girls’ father regarding their last whereabouts. They noted inconsistencies in the man’s accounts, which appeared to be misleading during the probe. The suspicion deepened when the investigating police personnel began tracking the movements of the man since the day he had lodged a missing person complaint. They soon discovered that he had taken all his three daughters to a nearby lake in the town.
During sustained interrogation, the man confessed that he had drowned the girls in the lake one by one with the intention to kill them. He told the cops further that he was addicted to several vices, and was struggling with financial woes, so he found it hard to bear the responsibility of three daughters, leading him to commit the crime.
Accused arrested, remanded to police custody

The police arrested the accused after he confessed to the crime. He was produced in the court, which remanded him to judicial custody, as per police officials.
