Stock Market Today: 21 April 2026, Sensex Jumps 753 Points, Nifty Closes Above 24,500
Because of the hope of restart of peace talks between US and Israel there was positive sentiments seen in the market as a result there is a increase and market closed today with a increase of 753.03 points at 79273.33 and the Nifty closed with a increase of 211.75 points at 24576.60. In today’s trading also , geopolitical tension across the border was seen, the prices of Crude oil have gone up by 100 dollars per barrel since the Strait of Hormuz is not open yet and are more likely the situation is not much clear but if it goes up the risk of inflation will increase. Today the share price of Media, Banking and Auto sectors saw the most significant gains.
Today, a increase was seen in the Asian Markets also, Japan Nikkei closed with a increase of 0.89%  of 524.28 points at 59349.17 points , while Chinese markets Shanghai Composite Index closed today with a increase of 0.07% of 2.95 points at 4085.08 , the South Koreas kospi Index increased by 2.72% by 169.38 points and closed at 6388.47 points and Hangseng Index of Hongkong was closed today with a increase of 0.48% by 126.41 points at 26487.48 points.The American markets on 20th April 2026 closed with a decrease  , Dow Jones decreased by 0.01% by 4.87 points and closed at 49442.56 points whereas S&P 500 index decreased by 0.24% by 16.92 points and closed at 7109.14 points.
