The bail hearing of Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) leaders Ashutosh Ranka and Saurav Das was deferred in Delhi after a Special Executive Magistrate allegedly received threats linked to their release. Delhi Police have registered an FIR against unidentified persons, but the individual responsible for sending the threatening message has not yet been identified. Both leaders have been lodged in Tihar Jail since October 14.

Threatening Message Takes Centre Stage During Hearing
According to CJP legal head Ratna Singh, the magistrate and the government lawyer arrived at around 5:30 pm on Sunday for the bail hearing. The party claimed that its members had been waiting since noon for proceedings to begin.
However, CJP alleged that instead of focusing on the bail applications, the discussion centred on the threatening message received by the magistrate. Singh questioned the relevance of the message to the leaders’ release proceedings and said the party had demanded that the sender be identified and appropriate action taken.
The party further claimed that its concerns were not addressed during the proceedings. Delhi Police have not responded to these allegations, according to the report.

CJP Questions Rejection of Four Sureties
The party also raised questions over delays in verifying documents submitted by the sureties for Ranka and Das. According to CJP, four sureties were rejected without a clear explanation, creating further hurdles in the bail process.
The party also questioned why a fixed deposit receipt bearing the bank’s stamp had to be submitted again for approval.

Leaders May Appear in Court on Monday
CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke alleged on social media that the bail process was being deliberately delayed to keep the two leaders behind bars. The party has maintained that it will continue its legal battle to secure their release.
Meanwhile, Ashutosh Ranka and Saurav Das may be produced at Mandir Marg Police Station on Monday, October 19. Their bail proceedings and the allegations surrounding the reported threat remain key developments in the case.
