MP Ekatma Parv: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister (CM) Dr Mohan Yadav on Friday inaugurated the 5-day-long ‘Ekatma Parv’ in Omkareshwar, marking the beginning of a grand cultural and spiritual celebration, which seeks to promote India’s rich philosophical heritage.
The festival will be observed until April 21, and is being jointly organised by the Acharya Shankar Cultural Unity Trust and the Madhya Pradesh’s department of culture. The event, as per officials, is being organised at the revered Ekatma Dham located on the sacred Mandhata Parvat, and has seen a huge footfall from devotees, scholars and cultural enthusiasts of the region.

MP Ekatma Parv: CM performs rituals at Yagya Shala
At the inaugural ceremony, CM Dr Yadav performed rituals at the Yagya Shala, adding to the significance of the spiritual commencement of the festival. He also revered Jagadguru Shankaracharya Swami Sadanand Saraswati, a seer of the Shri Dwarka Sharda Peeth. CM Dr Yadav presented an Angavastram to the seer, along with a metal idol and a portrait of Adi Guru Shankaracharya, acknowledging his contribution to preserving and disseminating India’s spiritual traditions.
“Festival a confluence of India’s cultural consciousness”: CM

The Chief Minister then took over the podium to address the gathering, and expressed his deep sense of privilege in participating in the Acharya Shankar Prakatotsav, organised under the Ekatma Parv. He underlined the significance of Omkareshwar as a centre of spiritual awakening and philosophical thought.
He remarked, “This festival is a beautiful confluence of India’s eternal cultural consciousness, spiritual legacy and the awakening of unity.” During this, he also outlined the teachings of Adi Guru Shankaracharya, and reflected on the universal message of Advaita Vedanta, which advocates the oneness of all existence. He noted that the philosophy reminds humanity that the entire universe is imbued with a single, unified consciousness.
A string of programmes are slated to be staged during the Ekatma Parv, alongside spiritual discourses and traditional performances, reinforcing the timeless ideals of unity and harmony embedded in Indian philosophy.
