Women beneficiaries across Madhya Pradesh received a financial boost during Navratri as the state’s Chief Minister (CM) Dr Mohan Yadav transferred ₹1,834 crore into the bank accounts of around 1.25 crore eligible women under the state’s Ladli Behna Yojana on October 14, 2026.

The amount represents the scheme’s 41st monthly instalment, with each beneficiary receiving ₹1,500. The transfer took place through a single-click transaction during a public programme at Guruwahi village in Umaria district, where the Chief Minister also inaugurated development projects and laid foundation stones for new works.

A still from the event

Addressing the gathering, CM Dr Yadav said the government had transferred more than ₹62,000 crore to beneficiaries since the scheme was launched. He reiterated the state government’s commitment to fulfilling its promises to the public.

₹115 Crore in LPG Subsidies for Women

Alongside the monthly assistance, the Chief Minister transferred ₹115.10 crore in subsidies to more than 23 lakh eligible beneficiaries under the Gas Cylinder Refill Scheme.

Eligible women covered by the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, as well as qualifying Ladli Behna beneficiaries outside the scheme, received assistance calculated at ₹450 for two months’ gas refills. CM Dr Yadav said the state government had provided ₹1,600 crore in gas-refill subsidies over the past three years.

The Chief Minister also highlighted the government’s spending on women’s welfare, claiming that the Congress governments had allocated only ₹350 crore to the state’s Women and Child Development Department, while his government had made a provision of ₹47,000 crore for women’s welfare.

136 Development Projects Announced in Umaria

The programme also marked the inauguration of 68 development projects worth ₹87 crore and the laying of foundation stones for another 68 projects costing ₹57 crore. Together, the 136 projects are valued at approximately ₹144 crore and cover areas including the Bandhavgarh and Manpur assembly constituencies.
