Indian Postal Update: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister (CM) Dr Mohan Yadav addressed a huge gathering at the Gramin Daak Sammelan in Ujjain on Wednesday. On the occasion, he lauded the reforms introduced in the Indian Postal System under the leadership of Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi, saying that the transformation is 'decisive' and 'historic'.

Indian Postal Update: Occasion held at Kartik Mela Ground

The occasion was held at the Kartik Mela ground, located near the banks of the Shipra river in Ujjain. Union Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia chaired the programme, with CM Yadav in attendance.

CM Yadav started off by saying that the Indian postal system, which was laid during the Colonial era, has seen remarkable modernization over the last few years. He added that under the leadership of PM Modi, the department has not only ramped up its traditional services, but has also expanded into new domains.

The Chief Minister underscored that the department, which primarily used to deliver letters once, has now launched a dedicated postal service to deliver 'Prasadam' from the revered Mahakaleshwar and Omkareshwar shrine to the devotees across India.

Indian Postal Update: CM fetes rural postal workers

During the event, CM Yadav called the rural postal workers the 'soldiers and strength' of the Indian economy. He then felicitated the rural postal workers who exhibited outstanding performance in their work. He underlined that post offices are also extending substantial benefits to the citizens of the state through insurance and savings schemes.

Postal department fully digitized

Continuing his statements, CM Yadav said that the postal department is now completely digitized to meet contemporary demands. Thereafter, he lauded Minister Scindia's leadership, by quoting the department's recently achieved feats.

Notably, more than 16,800 rural postal workers across Madhya Pradesh are contributing to strengthen the rural economy. The Chief Minister concluded his address by congratulating the postal department for its role in delivering information and essential services to citizens promptly.
