After gaining immense critical acclaim on both national and international levels, Vishal Chaturvedi’s Hanuman Ansh has named another milestone after it at the worldwide box office. The movie breached the Rs 400 crore mark despite opening to a modest Rs 10 lakh on its first day.
The devotional drama, centred on the life of the famous seer (spiritual guru) Neem Karoli Baba, received a theatrical release on August 7, 2026. While its opening numbers were subdued, the film saw a dramatic turnaround over the following weeks, fuelled by positive word-of-mouth and a steady spike in audience interest.
Notably, it had crossed the Rs 300 crore mark in India recently.

Spiritual drama surpasses worldwide collection of War 2
As per Sacnilk, Hanuman Ansh had minted Rs 362.70 crore in India gross by its 52nd day. The film subsequently added another Rs 0.75 crore, elevating its overseas gross collection to Rs 38.50 crore.
With its combined worldwide gross reaching Rs 401.20 crore, the film has surpassed the lifetime global collection of Hrithik Roshan-starrer War 2. The Ayan Mukerji directorial had raked in Rs 364.35 crore worldwide during its theatrical run. War 2 hit the theatres on August 14, 2025, and faced competition at the box office from the Tamil blockbuster, Coolie, starring superstar Rajinikanth.

Besides the film’s spiritual narrative centred on Neem Karoli Baba, Hanuman Ansh features Chandan K Anand and Purnima Tiwari in pivotal roles.
The film drew inspiration from Vishal Chaturvedi’s book Divine Detour: That Changed My Life. Vishal has been at the helm of the film’s cinematography, while Shankh Rajadhyaksha handled the editing part. Sadhu Tiwari was entrusted with the film’s music composition.

The soundtrack includes songs such as Parvati, Maine Tere Hi Bharose, Ram Bhajan Ki Or and Aavagama, among others.
Co-producer Anupriya Nagar details on support from Bollywood
Earlier, interacting with Zoom during an exclusive interview, the film’s co-producer Aupriya Nagar elaborated on the support the film has received from the Hindi film industry.
Nagar said the response from people outside the industry had been encouraging, but receiving commendation from Bollywood’s established icons was particularly meaningful for her as a newcomer.
She said, “For a young individual, first time in the industry, I always looked up to the industry because I myself have been a huge movie buff. I have admired their work and their craft. And for them to comment on something that we have created, means a lot.”

With the worldwide gross collection now standing beyond Rs 400 crore, Hanuman Ansh has shown people that an initially slow theatrical opening can also translate into a sustained box office run.
