Corey Parker death: American actor Corey Parker, who gained critical acclaim for his roles in popular television shows and films including Will and Grace, breathed his last at 60 following a battle with cancer. His family members confirmed the news, marking the end of a decades-long acting career. As per media reports, Parker died on Thursday in Memphis and was reeling with Stage-4 cancer. However, the exact type of cancer, which he had contracted, has not been disclosed yet.

Parker’s aunt confirms demise
Parker’s aunt, Emily Parker, confirmed the news. She said Corey had been battling cancer before his death. Soon after the news broke, tributes began pouring in from colleagues and institutions associated with his work.
Meanwhile, BGB Studios, where Parker had served as a mentor and acting coach, penned an emotional tribute in his memory. The studio posted a message, quoting his sister Noelle Parker, who said he had left the world ‘weightless, at peace and surrounded by love’.
Parker ventured into acting in mid-1980s
Notably, Parker began his acting journey in the mid-1980s and quickly landed roles in both movies and television shows. He featured in a horror film, “Friday the 13th: Part V – A New Beginning,” essaying the role of Pete. Later, he appeared in the romantic drama 9 1⁄2 Weeks, sharing the screen with Kim Basinger.

Parker played a memorable role in the sitcom, Will & Grace, where he portrayed the role of Josh, one of Grace’s boyfriends. His character appeared in five episodes of the TV series, and left an indelible impression among the audience. More of his works include films and TV projects, namely, Biloxi Blues, White Palace, Love Boat: The Next Wave, Nashville, and Blue Skies.

Worked as an acting coach in later years
Apart from acting, Parker dedicated his later years to mentoring aspiring performers. He worked as an acting coach and illuminated the path of artists on projects such as Sun Records and Ms. Marvel. Parker’s father, Rocky Parker was an actor too, who passed away in 2014. His sister, Noelle is also an established performer.
