Yagya Dutt Sharma birth anniversary: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister (CM) Dr Mohan Yadav on Sunday paid floral tributes to former speaker of the Assembly, Yagya Dutt Sharma, on the occasion of his birth ceremony. During this, present Assembly speaker Narendra Singh Tomar, his family members and several legislators were also in attendance.
CM Dr Yadav sheds light on Sharma’s life

Addressing the gathering on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that the birth anniversary of the late leader served as an important occasion to recall his contributions to the life of the commoners. He underscored that Sharma had served as the Speaker of the MP Legislative Assembly on three occasions, completing successful tenures marked by administrative efficiency and impartial conduct.
He furthermore emphasised that such anniversaries offer an opportunity for citizens and leaders alike to reflect on the legacy of the ones who shaped democratic institutions. He remarked, “Sharma’s working style left a long lasting impression on colleagues across party lines.”
The CM then highlighted Sharma’s connection with Indore, saying that he remained closely associated with the city throughout his life. He added that Sharma’s understanding of grassroots politics and legal acumen contributed vastly to his efficacy as a legislator and Speaker. CM Dr Yadav also pointed out that certain institutional practices, including bringing professionals from the judiciary into administrative roles, were initiated during Sharma’s tenure and will continue to influence governance.

Speaking at the event, Assembly Speaker Narendra Singh Tomar said that the gathering was a collective effort to honour a leader whose life was filled with remarkable achievements. On behalf of all legislators, he offered floral tributes and paid homage to Sharma’s enduring legacy.

Tomar recalled that Sharma stood as a distinguished legal practitioner by profession, and had risen to fame with his expertise in law. Notably, he was elected as an MLA from Indore-4 constituency before being elevated as the Assembly Speaker, where he made rapid strides.
The ceremony came to an end with leaders affirming their commitment to uphold the democratic values and principles that Sharma championed throughout his public life.
