Sooryavanshi unleashes assault at Barsapara

The 15-year-old left-handed batter unleashed a stunning assault at the Barsapara stadium, smashing 54 runs off just 15 deliveries. His innings was laced with seven boundaries and four towering sixes as he dismantled a seasoned bowling attack featuring Josh Hazlewood and Bhvneshwar Kumar.
Wasting no time, Sooryavanshi struck two boundaries in the opening over. Even after Yashasvi Jaiswal was dismissed early, the teenager continued his onslaught, hammering Hazlewood for three fours and a six, all in a single over.

By achieving the feat, Sooryavanshi has etched his name in the elite list of players with the fastest fifties in IPL history. He now shares the 15-ball milestone alongside legends, while trailing the record held by Jaiswal. Notably, this is the second time in IPL 2026 that the teenager has reached a half century in just 15 balls. He marked the milestone in a match played against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) earlier in the season.
The young opener also equalled Jos Buttler’s record of scoring a fifty within the first six overs for Rajasthan Royals. The feat was previously secured by Jaiswal twice, as well as by other players like Ben Stokes, Michael Lumb and Nitish Rana.

RCB post competitive total
Earlier in the match, Rajat Patidar led from the front for RCB with a composed 63 off 40 balls, guiding his side to 201/8 in a rain-delayed encounter. Contributions from Virat Kohli (32), Romario Shepherd (22) and Venkatesh Iyer (29) helped bolster the innings, while Rajasthan bowlers, including Jofra Archer and Ravi Bishnoi picked up two wickets each.
