UP model in MP temples: The Madhya Pradesh government on Saturday has landed on the decision to adopt the Uttar Pradesh model to enhance crowd management and ensure the effective use of modern technologies at religious sites. As part of the initiative, the officials of the state will visit the Kashi Vishwanath temple and Kashi Vishwanath Dham to study the advanced crowd control systems implemented there.
The move, as per officials, comes amid a spike in footfall at temples across MP, prompting the government to explore more efficient solutions.

Under the UP model, MP’s officials will be trained in the use of drone technology, artificial intelligence( AI)-based surveillance cameras and geopolitical systems. These technologies are highly likely to be deployed during the SImhastha fair slated for 2028 in Ujjain, to ensure smooth management of massive crowds. The initiative, as per officials, is aimed at enhancing both safety and convenience for pilgrims visiting major religious centres.

UP to showcase branding models
During CM Dr Yadav’s visit, both states are likely to discuss a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on initiatives such as the ‘Ek Zila, Ek Utpaad’ scheme, tourism promotion and traditional handicrafts. The investment session will be centred on opportunities in Madhya Pradesh, including GI-tagged products. While UP will showcase successful branding models like Banarasi Silk, Chikankari and handmade carpets, MP is expected to highlight traditional textiles from Chanderi and Maheshwar. The meeting will also explore the development of a proposed Gaga-Narmada craft corridor. Additionally, discussions will be held on creating a religious tourism circuit linking Varanasi, Ujjain and Chitrakoot.
