Holy bathing rituals to be held on banks of Kshipra River

The event is determined on the basis of astrological calculations. It is held when the Sun enters the Aries sign and Jupiter enters Leo. The rare celestial alignment marks the auspicious period for Simhastha in Ujjain. During the course of the 2-month-long event, millions of devotees from across India and abroad are expected to show up in the holy city. Special bathing rituals will be organised along the banks of the sacred Kshipra River, considered highly auspicious for spiritual cleansing.
