School Chalein Hum MP: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister (CM) Dr Mohan Yadav on Wednesday inaugurated the state-level Praveshotsav programme 2026 under the ‘School Chalein Hum’ campaign at the Model Higher Secondary school in Bhopal’s TT Nagar. The initiative, according to officials, marks the beginning of a four-day statewide drive, holding the goal to increase student enrollment and promote quality education among them.
Free bicycles were distributed among the students at the event, as part of the government’s efforts to encourage school attendance and reduce dropout rates, the officials said.

Focus to be laid on quality education, resources
Public Relations Officer (PRO) Akhil Paraste shed light on the details of the occasion, saying that the state government is persevering in efforts to ensure access to quality education and essential resources for students. He added that several schemes have been set in motion, including laptop assistance for meritorious students, along with scooter and bicycle distribution programmes to incentivise academic participation.
School Chalein Hum MP: Campaign to be conducted across 92k schools of state
Notably, the new academic session for 2026-27 commenced today on April 1, with the School Education Department observing it as the School Chalein Hum campaign until April 4, 2026. Activities are being carried out across the state’s 92,000 government schools, which include primary, middle, high and higher secondary institutions. Nearly 8.5 million students of the state are enrolled at these schools. Officials said they have issued detailed guidelines to the collectors of all the districts and education officers to ensure effective implementation, with special emphasis laid on boosting enrollment figures.
‘Bhavishya Se Bhet’ programme to be held on 2nd day
Officials aware of the development said that on the second day of the campaign, schools will host the ‘Bhavishya Se Bhet’ programme, where eminent personalities from various fields will interact with students as motivational speakers. Eminent figures, such as sportspersons, artists, writers, media professionals, police officials and government officials will share insights on the importance of education and personal growth. Participants can also contribute to useful education materials for students.

Cultural, sports activities on third day
On April 3, schools will hold cultural and sports events involving parents, aiming to ramp up their connection with educational institutions. Teachers will also brief parents on government schemes related to school education. Meanwhile, the parents of students with over 85% attendance in the previous academic year will be honoured.
