MP CM Dr Yadav flags off ‘Queens on the Wheels’ women’s superbike expedition from Bhopal

‘Queens on the Wheels’ MP: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister (CM) Dr Mohan Yadav on Saturday flagged off the third edition of the ‘Queens on the Wheels’ women’s superbike expedition from his official residence in Bhopal. Notably, the seven-day-long expedition is featuring 25 female superbikers from across the country, and its goal is to promote the state’s rich historical and cultural tourism destinations to a global audience.

The initiative has been launched by the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board, and the riders participating in the expedition will cover a distance of 1400 kilometres. They will travel from Bhopal to Khajuraho and vice-versa, while exploring scores of iconic heritage sites of the state.

CM says initiative an epitome of women empowerment

CM Dr Yadav, while addressing the attendees of the event, said that the expedition is a symbol of women empowerment and independence. “The state’s daughters are riding superbikes to carry the state’s heritage to the world. This journey celebrates freedom and our rich cultural legacy. Our goal is to establish the state as a safe, adventurous and world-class tourism destination,” he added.

Continuing his statements, he said that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, the state continues to advance while focusing on safety and development. It is noteworthy that the initiative comes days before the International Women’s Day and Rang Panchami, highlighting the spirit of women empowerment.

Bike riders to pass through these iconic sites

The bike trail will steer the riders across several iconic and culturally significant destinations, such as Sanchi, Udayagiri, Chanderi, Shivpuri, Kuno National Park, Gwalior, Datia, Orchha and Khajuraho. The female bike riders will experience the diverse heritage of different regions of the state, like the simplicity of Nimar, the vibrancy of Malwa, the valour of Bundelkhand, the folk arts of Baghelkhand, the historic pride of Chambal and the natural beauty of Mahakaushal.

During the ceremony, CM Dr Yadav also interacted with the riders and social media influencers, who are engaged in promoting tourism in Madhya Pradesh. Bikers from other states such as Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and West Bengal are also participating in the trail. The CM posed for a group photograph with the participants, and encouraged them to share their experiences.

Bikers to follow strict safety measures

Officials aware of the details of the event said that the participating female riders are highly experienced, and will follow strict safety measures during the expedition. They added that the district administration officials along the route have been directed to ensure proper accommodation and logistical arrangements for the group.

The MP Tourism Board-led initiative, ‘Queens on the Wheels’ is more than just a bike ride. Its goal is to celebrate women’s courage and independence while promoting the state’s cultural heritage, lesser-known tourism destinations and natural beauty.
