Gang barges into lodge room
Police said the accused allegedly barged into the room and posed as policemen. Thereafter, they tied the hands and legs of the man and woman, and forcibly took them away in a car after stuffing cloth into their mouths to muffle their screams.
The five-member gang, according to police, assaulted the man, leaving him with broken arms and legs. He was then abandoned outside a hospital near Tiruppur. Two of the accused, identified as Thomas and Raghupathi, allegedly took the woman to another car, where they sexually assaulted her, police said.
The woman reached her native place after the sexual assault, where she received treatment and narrated her ordeal to police.
