A video showing a young woman allegedly being harassed and assaulted by a group of youths at Bihar’s Mandar Hill in Banka district has surfaced on social media, prompting police action. The footage came to the attention of Bounsi police on September 22 and was subsequently verified at the location.
Police said the incident shown in the video actually took place on June 3, 2026, when the woman had reportedly visited Mandar Hill with two friends. The recent circulation of the footage brought the matter to public attention.

Three Suspects Identified, Raids Underway
According to police, the woman was allegedly surrounded by youths who behaved indecently with her, abused her and issued threats. The footage also appears to show one of the men carrying a slipper and another holding a stick.
Police initially registered a case against six unidentified youths after verifying that the location shown in the video was Mandar Hill. During the investigation, three suspects were identified as Abdullah, Nitish Kumar Rai and Vikas Kumar.
Police said raids are underway at possible locations to trace and arrest the identified suspects. The viral footage has been preserved as digital evidence as part of the investigation.

Case Registered Under BNS and IT Act
Bounsi police registered the FIR under Sections 74, 75, 76 and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, along with Sections 66E and 67A of the Information Technology Act.
Police have also initiated action concerning the circulation of the footage and attempts to reveal the identity of the woman.
The Banka case has emerged shortly after similar harassment videos from Jamui and Samastipur came to light. Police investigations in all three cases are continuing, while authorities have urged people not to circulate videos that could expose the identities of victims.
