Almost two days after a disturbing case emerged from Bihar’s Jamui, in which a group of men were seen allegedly sexually harassing and molesting a Class 10 girl, another similar shocking incident has surfaced again from the state’s Samastipur town. A video shows a group of youth surrounding and harassing a girl.
The 56-second-long clip, which contains objectionable visuals and language, has been making rapid rounds on social media, and the police have launched a probe into the incident. As per sources, the incident has been reported from the town’s Jagatsinghpur area, and unfolded under the jurisdiction of the Karpurigram police station.

Girl harassed while capturing pics
As per reports, the incident transpired on Wednesday along the Dam Bypass Road in Jagatsinghpur village. The girl had reportedly stopped by the roadside to capture photographs when a group of youths allegedly surrounded her and began abusing and harassing her.
The video purportedly shows one of the youths touching the girl in an inappropriate manner and making obscene remarks at her.
Meanwhile, the girl shouts back and attempts to fight back, but is soon outnumbered by the group. The viral footage has raised a plethora of concerns over the circumstances surrounding the incident and the circulation of the footage online.
However, the police are yet to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident, including the exact time when the video was captured and the identities and individual roles of all the persons seen in the footage.
Viral clip being analysed by cops
Samastipur’s Superintendent of Police (SP) Arvind Pratap Singh said the case had come to police’s cognisance and that a team had been constituted to probe it.

The cops are analysing the viral footage and are persevering in efforts to identify the perpetrators. According to police, further legal action would be taken on the basis of the findings of the probe.
Reports emerging on Thursday said four men had been taken into custody for interrogation in connection with the incident. The police action came after the video surfaced online and the suspects were identified.
Jamui case triggered nationwide outrage
The Samastipur incident has come to the fore two days after a separate case in Bihar’s Jamui, where a viral video allegedly showed a Class 10 girl and one of her male friends being harassed and assaulted by a group of youths.

Following the Jamui incident, the cops registered an FIR, formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) and arrested three accused, all of whom are minors.
