MP news: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister (CM) Dr Mohan Yadav announced on Tuesday that the hindi film, ‘Shatak’ will be tax-free across the state. The announcement made by the Chief Minister is likely to slash ticket prices, and draw wider viewership across the state.
The decision comes as welcome news for historical dramas’ admirers, biopics and socially-themed cinema. After being exempted from tax, both the general public and the theatre owners are likely to benefit from increased turnout and reduced entertainment tax burden.

CM Dr Yadav lauds message propagated by the film
Prior to announcing the tax waiver, CM Dr Yadav lauded the film for its strong thematic focus. He said that Shatak underscores the tradition of national service and cultural values that have been upheld for over 100 years by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).
CM Dr Yadav posted on social media that the film portrays the legacy of service and moral values preserved by the RSS for a century. He further wrote that granting tax-free status to the movie would help it reach a broader audience across Madhya Pradesh.

Ashish Malla directorial centred on RSS’ journey
The film, produced by Veer Kapoor and directed by Ashish Malla, is titled ‘Shatak:Sangh Ke 100 Saal.’ It was released in theatres on February 20, 2026, and traces the 100-year-old journey, history and the ideological evolution brought about by the RSS.
