The foot march drew participation from a huge number of women. Addressing the gathering, CM Dr Yadav slammed the Congress leaders for mocking the Woman’s Reservation Bill. In his remarks, he targeted Rahul Gandhi’s sister, Priyanka, saying that her earlier claims of empowerment now rang hollow. He said, “Priyanka Gandhi spoke of strength, saying I am a girl, I can fight. Where has that resolve gone now, when the rights of women have been stifled?” His statements prompted a loud applause from the crowd.

CM reflects on Congress’ earlier decisions

CM Dr Yadav, during this, also reflected on Congress’ history of sidelining women’s rights. He referred to past political decisions, claiming that the earlier leadership had also failed to uphold justice for women.

He urged the march’s attendees to channel their anger constructively, saying that it symbolised a growing demand for equality. He asserted, “This fire within you is the fire of your rights. Do not let it extinguish.” Furthermore, he also accused opposition parties of collectively denying women their rightful place in governance, underlining that such efforts would ultimately fall.

He warned that those who ‘choked the aspirations of half the population’ would be held accountable. He further said that respect for women is deeply embedded in Indian traditions. He added, “Without honouring women, even divine blessings remain incomplete.”
