MP CM Dr Yadav announces development works worth Rs 662.46 cr for Ujjain

MP CM in Ujjain: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister (CM) Dr Mohan Yadav and Governor Mangubhai Patel attended the 30th convocation ceremony at Vikram University in Ujjain on Tuesday. At the event, CM Dr Yadav announced development works worth Rs 662.46 crore for the region, giving it a major push in infrastructure. 

Dignitaries present on the occasion lit the ceremonial lamp and offered floral tributes to Goddess Saraswati. As many as 397 students were awarded degrees, and both leaders extended their vote of congratulations to them for their future endeavours.

Ujjain gets major development push

CM Dr Yadav, while addressing the attendees of the event, underlined the Centre’s continued focus on Ujjain under the leadership of Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi. He said that the city has received numerous infrastructural upgrades, especially in terms of road development. 

“Today, we are further strengthening this progress with the rollout of additional initiatives,” CM Dr Yadav said. He also announced that a grand Geeta Bhawan shall be built in the city at a cost of Rs 77 crore, which shall promote the cultural, literary and social activities. 

CM performs Geeta Bhawan’s ground-breaking ceremony

The Chief Minister then performed the ground-breaking ceremony for the Geeta Bhawan project at the Triveni Vihar scheme site. The proposed structure is expected to span nearly 1 lakh square feet and will include an auditorium built over 12,700 square feet, along with a 3,600 sq ft e-library. The facility is being envisioned as a hub for intellectual and cultural engagement in the city.

Foundation stones laid for other projects worth Rs 662.46 cr

Additionally, CM Dr Yadav laid the foundation stones for other development projects valued at Rs 662.46 crore, which will be carried out by the Ujjain Development Authority. Notably, the projects form a crucial part of preparations for Simhastha 2028.
