Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister (CM) Dr Mohan Yadav will chair the meeting, which is being treated as a significant push towards farmer-centric governance.

The historic session to be held in Barwani is likely to focus on farmer welfare, integrating agriculture with industry, and implementation of decisive measures to ramp up the incomes of the farmers of the state.

Major announcements expected for MP’s farmers

Most likely, CM Dr Yadav will unveil a series of development-oriented decisions, whose objective would be to strengthen the rural economy. With Holi around the corner, special benefits are on the cards for the state’s farmers.

As many as 17 departments of the state, including animal husbandry, horticulture, cooperatives, agriculture and industry, have jointly prepared a “garden-to-market” roadmap. The integrated plan, as per officials, has been designed to reinforce the entire agricultural value chain, from production and processing to marketing.

The officials further said that the initiative is aimed at creating a robust and seamless ecosystem that ensures better returns for farmers, while concurrently promoting agri-bassed industries.

Self-reliant farmers to get a push

The initiative sends a clear message from CM Dr Yadav’s side; “To empower farmers through innovation and sustainable development.” The to-be-organised Agriculture Cabinet meeting in Barwani is being viewed as a strong example of de-centralised decision making, aimed to uplift the tribal and rural population of MP.

2026 has been declared as ‘Kisaan Kalyan Varsh’, and the state government is boosting its efforts to promote agricultural reforms, as well as long-term economic empowerment. According to a statement by the Department of Public Relations (DPR) of MP, the initiative seeks to transform the state’s villages into models of prosperity, and position its farmers as globally competitive contributors to growth.
