Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister (CM) Dr Mohan Yadav on Wednesday met Bageshwar Dham Peethadheeshwar (Head priest) Pandit Dhirendra Krishna Shastri at Samatva Bhavan, the Chief Minister's official residence in Bhopal. The meeting took place in a cordial and warm atmosphere, with both dignitaries engaging in discussions on spirituality, social welfare and cultural values.
As a mark of respect, the Chief Minister welcomed Pandit Shastri by draping him with a ceremonial stole. He also presented him with an idol of Lord Baba Mahakal and conveyed his best wishes. During the interaction, CM Dr Yadav sought the blessings of the spiritual leader, reflecting the significance of saints and spiritual institutions in the state's cultural and religious fabric.

Bageshwar Dham highlights its welfare initiatives
During the meeting, Pandit Dhirendra Krishna Shastri briefed the Chief Minister on the various social, religious and charitable initiatives being undertaken by Bageshwar Dham.
He said the institution has been consistently carrying out a range of public welfare activities, including initiatives in the fields of education, healthcare, cow protection and assistance to underprivileged sections of society. According to him, these programmes are aimed at serving people in need while promoting humanitarian values rooted in Indian traditions.
The Chief Minister appreciated the efforts being made by Bageshwar Dham towards social welfare and expressed hope that such initiatives would continue to benefit society in the years ahead.
Exchange of sacred gifts marks the occasion
The meeting also witnessed an exchange of symbolic gifts. Pandit Dhirendra Krishna Shastri honoured CM Dr Yadav by presenting him with an idol of Kamdhenu Gau Mata, regarded as a symbol of prosperity and reverence in Hindu tradition.
The two also discussed issues related to Madhya Pradesh's social and cultural development, religious faith and public service. Their conversation centred on strengthening social harmony and preserving India's rich spiritual heritage through collective efforts.
