Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister (CM) Dr Mohan Yadav on Saturday visited the Valmiki Dham Ashram in Ujjain and performed a traditional ‘Chhadi Puja’ on the occasion of the Bhujariya festival, praying for peace, prosperity and happiness across the state.
The Chief Minister also extended his warm greetings to the people of Madhya Pradesh on the occasion, describing Bhujariya as a festival that reflects the state’s folk traditions, faith and spirit of social harmony.

Religious ceremony at Valmiki Dham
CM Dr Yadav reached the Valmiki Dham Ashram in Ujjain on August 29, where he took part in the religious rituals and performed the Chhadi Puja according to tradition.
He prayed for the well-being and prosperity of the people of the state and wished that the festival would bring peace, happiness and prosperity to everyone’s lives.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said it was a matter of great fortune that a procession carrying the flag emblem of Lord Jaharveer Gogadev Ji Maharaj would be taken out from Ujjain, the sacred city associated with Lord Mahakal, on the auspicious occasion of Bhujariya.
He said the procession would convey a message of social harmony and unity from the holy land of Ujjain to people across the country.

‘Cultural traditions being revived’
Highlighting India’s cultural heritage, CM Dr Yadav said the country was witnessing continuous progress in every field while spiritual consciousness was also expanding. He credited Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi’s leadership with helping revive the nation’s glorious past and rich cultural traditions.
“Today, under the leadership of PM Modi, we are once again bringing our glorious past and rich cultural traditions to life,” CM Dr Yadav asserted.
The Chief Minister further described Bhujariya as a symbol of folk traditions, religious faith and social harmony. He said such festivals strengthen the bonds of unity among communities while keeping traditional cultural practices alive.
Procession to spread message of unity
The procession featuring the flag emblem of Lord Jaharveer Gogadev Ji Maharaj is scheduled to be taken out from Ujjain during the Bhujariya celebrations.
CM Dr Yadav said the event would carry the message of social harmony and unity beyond Madhya Pradesh and across the country. Extending his greetings to all residents of the state, the Chief Minister wished that the festival would bring peace, prosperity, happiness and well-being into everyone’s lives.
