Bhopal’s iconic Boat Club turned into a vibrant sea of tricolour on Thursday as Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister (CM) Dr Mohan Yadav flagged off a grand Nauka Tiranga Yatra ahead of Independence Day, delivering a message of patriotism, national service and determination.

The atmosphere at the state capital’s popular waterfront venue turned distinctly patriotic with songs such as Mera Rang De Basanti Chola filling the air. The tricolour was visible across land, water and sky, creating a striking spectacle for visitors and participants.

Young athletes added to the excitement with impressive kayaking and canoeing displays. Through a canoe slalom show, the sportspersons paid tribute to the national flag with a series of skilful manoeuvres. In another major attraction, a floating tricolour was created in the middle of the lake, described by organisers as the first such display in the country.

CM Dr Yadav not only inaugurated the boat procession but also joined the journey aboard a boat, reinforcing the event’s message of service to the nation. State Cabinet Minister Vishwas Sarang was also present.

Addressing the gathering, CM Dr Yadav described the event as an extraordinary celebration and praised India’s progress under Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi’s leadership.

He said democracy was flourishing under Modi’s leadership and that India had established a distinct identity before the world. Describing India as the world’s youngest nation, the Chief Minister said the country was advancing towards prosperity by harnessing its strength and capabilities.

CM Dr Yadav said the occasion was particularly significant as governments across states were pursuing public welfare initiatives under the leadership of the Prime Minister.

CM highlights Uniform Civil Code

MP CM Dr Yadav also welcomed the implementation of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in Madhya Pradesh, saying it marked an important step towards equality.

He said the introduction of a common legal framework would ensure that people were not treated differently on the basis of religion. Hindus, Muslims, Parsis and Christians, he said, would be governed by the same law.

The Chief Minister also expressed pride in India’s growing strength and the achievements of its armed forces, saying the country had acquired unprecedented capabilities.

‘Determination moves with time’

Reflecting on the spectacular water-based Tiranga Yatra, CM Dr Yadav praised the young athletes for displaying exceptional skill and determination.

He said their performance demonstrated the importance of resolve in overcoming challenges. Comparing their sporting feats to confronting powerful waves at sea, he said the players showed courage and mastery even while facing difficult circumstances.

CM Dr Yadav said the sight of a Tiranga Yatra taking place on water was a remarkable demonstration of national pride and added that the event was creating a memorable record for Madhya Pradesh.

With the tricolour dominating the Boat Club, he prayed for the continued strength and prosperity of the nation. He urged people to work together under Modi’s leadership to take India forward and advance confidently towards the goals of the Amrit Kaal.
